아프리카인사이트가 오늘, 창립 13주년을 맞이했습니다.
2013년 4월 1일, 아프리카의 여러 나라에서 활동하며 특별한 애정을 품게 된 청년들이 모였습니다. 현장에서 마주한 아프리카는 한국에 알려진 모습과 너무 달랐습니다. 55개 국가, 14억 인구가 만들어가는 이야기를 있는 그대로 전하고 싶었습니다. 동정이 아니라 연결, 시혜가 아니라 공감. 그 방향은 13년이 지난 지금도 변하지 않았습니다.
그 사이, 함께 걸어주신 분들이 있었습니다. 현장에서, 강의실에서, 축제에서, 그리고 화면 너머에서. 여러분의 관심과 신뢰가 없었다면 이 여정은 이어질 수 없었습니다. 진심으로 감사드립니다.
최근 아프리카인사이트는 변화하는 국내외 정세와 기술 환경 속에서 한 단계 더 나아가기 위한 숙고의 시간을 보내고 있습니다. 그동안 여러분의 지지와 후원이 있었기에 의미 있는 변화와 성과를 만들어올 수 있었습니다. 아프리카와 관련된 국내 생태와 활동이 더욱 풍부해지고 있는 점도 매우 반가운 변화입니다.
하지만 우리가 만들어가야 할 근본적이고 중장기적인 변화는 여전히 많은 과제를 안고 있습니다. 새로운 통찰과 지혜로 변화한 환경에 맞게 나아가고자 합니다.
그러한 의미에서, 14년째를 시작하는 오늘 “오늘의 Africa Insight”를 시작합니다. 처음의 마음 그대로, 아프리카를 더 깊이, 더 다양하게, 더 균형 있게 바라보기 위해. 매일 하나의 인사이트를 통해 더 건강한 관점과 통찰을 함께 나누고자 합니다.
또 가을로 예정된 제9회 서울아프리카페스티벌에도 많은 관심을 부탁드립니다.
사람으로 치면 이제 초등학교를 마치고 새로운 단계로 들어선 시기입니다. 다음 단계로 나아가는 중요한 전환점에서, 이 여정에 계속 함께해주시기를 부탁드립니다. 다시 한 번 진심으로 감사드립니다.

[13th Anniversary Message of Appreciation]
Today, Africa Insight marks its 13th anniversary.
On April 1, 2013, a group of young people who had lived and worked across Africa came together, united by a deep and lasting connection to the continent. What they encountered in the field was very different from the Africa portrayed in Korea. They wanted to share the stories of 55 countries and 1.4 billion people as they truly are — not through pity, but through connection; not through charity, but through empathy. Thirteen years later, that direction remains unchanged.
Along the way, many of you have walked with us — in the field, in classrooms, at festivals, and from behind your screens. Without your trust and support, this journey would not have been possible. We sincerely thank you.
In recent years, Africa Insight has been taking time to reflect and prepare for the next stage in response to a changing global context and technological landscape. With your continued support, we have been able to create meaningful change and impact. It is also very encouraging to see the growing ecosystem and engagement around Africa in Korea.
However, the deeper and long-term change we seek still carries many challenges. We remain committed to moving forward with renewed insight and wisdom, adapting to a changing environment.
With this in mind, as we begin our 14th year, we are launching “Today’s Africa Insight.” Staying true to our original spirit, we aim to see Africa more deeply, more diversely, and more fairly. Through one insight each day, we will share clearer perspectives and understanding.
We also kindly invite your interest in the 9th Seoul Africa Festival, scheduled for this coming fall.
If we were to compare this journey to a person, we are now entering a new stage after completing elementary school. At this important point of transition, we invite you to continue this journey with us. Once again, we sincerely thank you.
